Just as our mind has habits so does our body. Wouldn’t it be nice to be more conscious in and of your body before moving it? Fostering an internal awareness enables you to be more awake to those habits and to create change from within those patterns. As a teacher of Pilates and Energy Awareness, I emphasize the integration of both the mind and the body and how one indeed impacts and has consequences on the other.

At Mindful Movement I work with my clients on a level that is beyond just the physical body. You will learn techniques that will enable you to utilize your breath with more ease and efficiency and to develop tools that will help you to more fully inhabit your body in motion and in stillness.

I have been practicing, living and evolving this integrated approach to health and wellness since teaching my first fitness class over twenty years ago.

I completed Pilates Instructor Certificate programs In Australia in the early 1990’s then with Stott Pilates of Toronto, and have spent the last decade doing private training with master teacher trainers such as Heather Low of Meridian Pilates and Veronica McClurg teacher trainer and graduate of the Pilates Center of Boulder, Co.

My teaching practice is primarily influenced by classical Pilates and enhanced with modern adaptations from Stott and other methodologies.

One of the core principles of Pilates is Centering. This concept is not easily understood and therefore can often be glossed over in mainstream Pilates instruction. My background in teaching classes in energy awareness encourages developing a consciousness from within so that your learning can be from a more integrative place.
